  • Total Time: 16 minutes
  • Yield: 8 tacos 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper

1 tbsp oil

2 cups shredded cabbage

1/2 cup cilantro, chopped

1 jalapeño, minced

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tbsp lime juice

1 tsp honey

8 corn tortillas

1 avocado, sliced

Cotija cheese

Lime wedges

Instructions

1. Mix lime juice, sour cream, honey, salt, cilantro, cabbage and jalapeño to make the slaw.

2. Season the shrimp with chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.

3. Heat oil and sear shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until opaque.

4. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet until soft.

5. Assemble tacos with slaw, shrimp, avocado and Cotija.

6. Serve immediately with lime wedges.

Notes

Pat shrimp dry for best sear.

Cook shrimp in batches to avoid steaming.

Slaw tastes better after resting 10 minutes.

Warm tortillas so they don’t crack.
