Ingredients
1. 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
2. 2 tbsp sugar
3. 1/4 tsp baking powder
4. Pinch of salt
5. 3 tbsp milk
6. 2 tbsp oil or melted butter
7. 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
8. 2 tbsp chocolate chips
9. Optional: vanilla ice cream for serving
10. Optional: chocolate drizzle for topping
Instructions
1. Choose a microwave-safe mug, about 10 to 12 ounces.
2. Add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt to the mug.
3. Mix the dry ingredients well with a fork.
4. Add the milk, oil or melted butter, and vanilla extract.
5. Stir until the batter looks smooth, making sure no flour is hiding at the bottom.
6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
7. Microwave for 60 to 75 seconds.
8. Let the mug cake rest for 1 minute before serving.
9. Top with ice cream or extra chocolate chips if desired.
Notes
Start with 60 seconds, then add 10-second bursts only if needed.
Use a 10–12 oz mug so the cake has room to rise.
Mini chocolate chips melt more evenly through the batter.
Letting the cake rest for 1 minute helps finish the center gently.
Fresh mug cakes taste best right away.
