Ingredients
900 g chicken thighs (boneless or bone-in)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
80 ml honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 garlic cloves, finely minced
30 g butter, melted
1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
¼ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
2. Pat the chicken dry, then season with olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika.
3. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
4. In a bowl, whisk together honey, cinnamon, garlic, melted butter, soy sauce, vinegar, and chili flakes.
5. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken, making sure each piece is coated.
6. Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes, basting once halfway through cooking.
7. Switch the oven to broil and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the glaze is caramelized.
8. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for the juiciest result.
Cinnamon should stay subtle; do not increase the amount.
If the glaze thickens too quickly, loosely cover with foil.
Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 4 days.
