Ingredients
120 ml hot coffee (around 195°F / 90°C)
140 ml hot chocolate or heated milk
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
Tiny pinch of salt
Milk foam or whipped milk (optional, for topping)
Instructions
1. Mix the cocoa powder with about 10 ml of hot water in a small bowl until it forms a smooth paste with no clumps.
2. Add the hot chocolate or heated milk to the cocoa paste and whisk gently until combined.
3. Slowly pour in the hot coffee while stirring so everything blends smoothly.
4. Whisk the drink for 8–12 seconds to create a velvety texture and a light foam.
5. Taste and adjust: add more cocoa for richness or a little sweetener if you like it sweeter.
6. Top with milk foam if you want a more café-style finish and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Always pre-mix the cocoa with a small amount of hot water to avoid stubborn clumps.
Keep your water or liquid around 185–195°F (85–90°C) for the best texture.
For a stronger coffee flavor, use a 2:1 coffee-to-chocolate ratio.
For a dessert-like drink, use a 1:2 coffee-to-chocolate ratio and extra cocoa.
A tiny pinch of salt makes the drink taste rounder and less aggressively sweet.
This recipe works with plant-based milks like oat, almond, or soy just as well.
