No reviews

Homemade fish sticks deliver a louder crunch, a brighter fish flavor, and a more satisfying texture than frozen versions. The hands-on process — coating, dipping, and pressing the panko — makes every bite feel intentional and fresh.

  • Total Time: 13 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb cod or pollock

½ cup flour

1 cup panko

1 egg + 1 tbsp water

½ tsp paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper

Instructions

1. Coat the fish strips in flour.

2. Dip each piece into the egg wash.

3. Press into the seasoned panko to coat fully.

4. Cook in the air fryer at 400°F for 7–8 minutes until golden and crisp.

Notes

Cutting the fish pieces slightly unevenly is fine — smaller pieces crisp faster and add textural variety to the plate.
