A balanced, comforting drink that mixes warm cocoa with smooth coffee to create a glossy, flavorful hybrid cup. With the right order, temperature, and whisking, this simple mix becomes a polished café-style drink you can make half-awake.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp sugar (optional)

10 ml hot water

1/2 cup hot chocolate or warm milk

1/2 cup medium roast coffee

1 pinch salt

Optional: 1 drop peppermint, tiny winter spice mix, or 1 tsp melted chocolate

Instructions

1. Mix cocoa, sugar, and 10 ml hot water into a glossy paste.

2. Add warm milk or hot chocolate and whisk gently.

3. Slowly pour the coffee while stirring continuously.

4. Whisk 8–10 seconds to create light microfoam.

5. Taste and adjust salt or cocoa based on your preferred ratio.

Notes

Use medium roast coffee for the smoothest blend.

Dutch-processed cocoa dissolves more easily.

Keep water between 185–195°F for best texture.

Whisk in figure-eights for a silky finish.

Add spices to the coffee, not the cocoa.
